Scriptural Guidance on Recognizing and Inviting the Holy Spirit’s Presence

The Bible provides guidance on acknowledging the Holy Spirit and inviting His presence into our lives. Here are some specific passages that address this:

  1. Luke 11:13:
  • “If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” This passage emphasizes the importance of asking God for the Holy Spirit, indicating that acknowledging our desire for the Spirit’s presence is a step toward receiving Him.
  1. John 14:26:
  • “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” Here, Jesus teaches that the Holy Spirit will guide and teach us. Acknowledging the Holy Spirit involves recognizing His role as our teacher and guide.
  1. Romans 8:26-27:
  • “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.” This passage highlights the intercessory role of the Holy Spirit in our prayers. To acknowledge the Holy Spirit, we can invite Him to help and guide us in our prayers.
  1. Ephesians 1:17:
  • “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.” Paul’s prayer for believers includes asking for the Spirit of wisdom and revelation. This suggests that we should continually seek the Holy Spirit’s wisdom and guidance to know God more deeply.
  1. 1 Thessalonians 5:19:
  • “Do not quench the Spirit.” This command implies that we must be open to the Holy Spirit’s work and avoid actions that would stifle His influence in our lives.
  1. James 4:8:
  • “Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” While not directly mentioning the Holy Spirit, this passage speaks to drawing near to God, which includes seeking the Holy Spirit’s presence and guidance.

In summary, acknowledging the Holy Spirit involves asking for His presence, recognizing His roles as teacher and intercessor, seeking His wisdom, and being open to His guidance in our lives. These steps help us cultivate a deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit and invite Him to speak to us.

Psalm 37:4-5 Do your part, but do not try to do God’s part…

The load is too heavy to bear and if you’re not careful, you will break under the weight of it. Don’t worry, trust, lean on, rely and be confident in the Lord, and do good so shall you dwell in the land and feed surely on his faithfulness, and truly, you shall be fed (Psalms 37:5) that’s a promise!

Psalm 37 trust in the lord and wait patiently for him to act. This song vividly contrast the wicked person with the righteous.

David calls us to take delight in the Lord and to commit everything we have, and do (our “way”) to him. But how do we do this? To delight in someone means to experience, great pleasure and joy in his or her presence. This happens only when we know that person well. Thus, to delight in the Lord, we must know him better. Knowledge of God‘s great love for us will indeed give us delight. To commit to the Lord means entrusting everything —our lives, families, jobs, possessions – to his control and guidance. To commit ourselves to the Lord means to trust in him (37:5) believing that he can care for us better than we can ourselves. We should be willing to wait patiently (37:7) for him to work out what is best for us.

Psalm 37:8, 9 Anger and worry (fretting), are two very destructive emotions, they reveal a lack of faith that God loves us and is in control. We should not worry, instead, we should trust in God, giving ourselves to him for his use and safekeeping. When you dwell on your problems, you will become anxious and angry. But if you concentrate on God and his goodness, you will find peace. Where do you focus your attention?

Psalm 37:1-9, we are reminded to do our best while also trusting in God’s plan. It’s natural to feel angry or worried at times, but these emotions can be harmful and show a lack of faith in God’s love and guidance. Let’s try to focus on doing our part and let God take care of the rest, knowing that He has our best interests at heart. #Getmarriedwhole

Do not fret because of evildoers. Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass. And withher as the green herb.

Psalm 37 trust in the lord and wait patiently for him to act. This song vividly contrast the wicked person with the righteous.

Psalm 37: 3,4,5,6 Trust in the Lord, and do good: dwell in the land, and feed on his faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord. And he shall give you the desires of your heart.

Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him. And He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light. And your justice as the noonday.

Psalm 37:7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him. Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way. Because of the men who brings wicked schemes to pass.

Stop matching other peoples energy. Be true to yourself. Do not betray your values

Forgiveness is a choice | I feel sometimes we can think unforgiveness is being mean. Just because we don’t forgive a person, we can still be kind, we can still be pleasant

Stop matching other peoples energy.

It is so common for us to see this as if it is a good thing.

  • You do not need to be mad at people who are mad at you.
  • You do not need to yell when they are yelling.
  • You can be the peace, no matter what the other person is giving.

You create your own energy.

How will I respond.

  • How do I want to feel?
  • How will I respond not, what they are doing but what should I do.
  • You should not be walking into rooms trying to gauge what everyone else is doing and how everyone else is feeling and being that thing.

Be true to yourself.

  • Do not betray your values
  • Do not step into a zone that you are not comfortable in because you are trying to match energy.
  • Be your own energy and show up in that way and I promise you, you will not feel like you betrayed yourself.
