What to Do When Trust Is Broken

Truthfulness Is Everything When it Comes To Building And Maintaining A Close Connection With Someone Else. I will never forget what the instructor said about the number-one priority—other than protecting your personal safety and peace—in treating character disorders. He said, “As soon as there is any kind of deception, stop everything.” If you are trying to help someone and he is lying to you in some way, there is no relationship. The whole thing is a farce, and you should not go any further in trying to help the person until you settle the issue of deception. There are no other issues at that point except that one.

Trust is everything in a helping relationship, and when it is broken, it becomes the only issue to work on. Either fix that or end the relationship. Where there is deception, there is no relationship.

It was wise training and good counsel from a very experienced leader in the field. Thirty-five years of practice had taught him through experience that where there is deception, there is no relationship. Truthfulness is everything when it comes to building and maintaining a close connection with someone else.

We believe that truthfulness is the basis for almost everything. You should have an absolute zero-tolerance policy when it comes to deception. Lying should have no place in your life. Listen to King David’s tough stance on lying: “No one who practices deceit will dwell in my house; no one who speaks falsely will stand in my presence” (Psalm 101:7).

Clear, straightforward, and rigid. Do not tolerate lying, period. That does not mean that if you are lied to once or deceived once that the relationship has to be over. Especially in the area of the person not being totally clear and direct about how he or she feels about certain preferences, or what his or her desires are. Probably every human being is growing in his or her ability to be direct and completely vulnerable with feelings and deeper things of the heart. People grow in that ability. None of us is perfect and secure enough to never use the fig leaf.

But don’t tolerate deception or lying when it happens.

If you’ve experienced deception or struggled to trust someone in a relationship, what practical solutions did you find helpful in trusting someone again? Help please. Comment below

EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION BETWEEN SPOUSES

YOUR TONGUE IS A VERY POWERFUL INSTRUMENT. IT CAN EITHER CALL DOWN BLESSINGS FROM HEAVEN OR BRING CURSES (FAILURE) INTO YOUR LIFE. THE BIBLE SAYS, “DEATH AND LIFE ARE IN THE POWER OF THE TONGUE: AND THEY THAT LOVE IT SHALL EAT THE FRUIT THEREOF
(PROVERBS 18:21).

Love must be demonstrated through actions and words. However, if you have spent months, or even years, tearing down your mate with hurtful words, you must train yourself to speak affectionately toward him or her. Begin today by making a conscious decision to change.

In the name of Jesus, I will not let any corrupt communication proceed out of my mouth, but only that which is good for edification. I am quick to listen and slow to speak. My words are acceptable to the Lord. I will put a guard on my mouth and keep the door of my lips shut from speaking anything ungodly. I will love my mate with affectionate words and genuine concern. I aim for and am eager to seek harmony in my marriage by building up my spouse. Amen!

One of the first things man must realize is that it is impossible, and dealing with the spiritual law of consciousness,

“To put New wine and old bottles or new patches on old garments.”

“And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the wine would burst the wineskins, and the wine and the skins would both be lost. New wine calls for new wineskins.” -Mark 2:22

That is, you cannot take any part of the present consciousness into the new state. for the state sought is complete in itself and needs no patching. Every level of consciousness automatically express itself.

To rise to the level of any state is to automatically become that state in expression. But, in order to rise to the level that you are not now expressing, you must completely drop the consciousness with which you are now identified.

Until your present consciousness is dropped, you will not be able to rise to another level.

Do not be dismayed. This letting go of your present identity is not as difficult as it might appear to be.

EVERYTHING GOD DOES HAS A REASON

Romans 8:28. It reads:

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” (King James Version)

God is not experimenting with your life this year. He is excited about what he already knows. You are about to experience what he has already completed. The Bible says that all things work together for your good. Some of the things you are going through may not look or feel good, but God says not to worry, as it’s already finished,– it’s a set up. It is done! Sometimes God allows you to loose one to get a better one. And sometimes you hang on the one real tight but God says, no thats not the final one but since you wont let it go I’ll take it from you to get you to the better one. ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR YOUR GOOD 🌟 in other words loosing something is just a passing moment in your beautiful future☀️. May peace be with you this week ahead. All praises to my Father. Life is good right… Smiling #getmarriedwhole

Scriptural Guidance on Recognizing and Inviting the Holy Spirit’s Presence

The Bible provides guidance on acknowledging the Holy Spirit and inviting His presence into our lives. Here are some specific passages that address this:

  1. Luke 11:13:
  • “If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” This passage emphasizes the importance of asking God for the Holy Spirit, indicating that acknowledging our desire for the Spirit’s presence is a step toward receiving Him.
  1. John 14:26:
  • “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” Here, Jesus teaches that the Holy Spirit will guide and teach us. Acknowledging the Holy Spirit involves recognizing His role as our teacher and guide.
  1. Romans 8:26-27:
  • “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.” This passage highlights the intercessory role of the Holy Spirit in our prayers. To acknowledge the Holy Spirit, we can invite Him to help and guide us in our prayers.
  1. Ephesians 1:17:
  • “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.” Paul’s prayer for believers includes asking for the Spirit of wisdom and revelation. This suggests that we should continually seek the Holy Spirit’s wisdom and guidance to know God more deeply.
  1. 1 Thessalonians 5:19:
  • “Do not quench the Spirit.” This command implies that we must be open to the Holy Spirit’s work and avoid actions that would stifle His influence in our lives.
  1. James 4:8:
  • “Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” While not directly mentioning the Holy Spirit, this passage speaks to drawing near to God, which includes seeking the Holy Spirit’s presence and guidance.

In summary, acknowledging the Holy Spirit involves asking for His presence, recognizing His roles as teacher and intercessor, seeking His wisdom, and being open to His guidance in our lives. These steps help us cultivate a deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit and invite Him to speak to us.

Being in love with someone is a beautiful feeling, but sometimes, love alone isn’t enough. If you haven’t truly experienced love, understood it, or gained the tools to navigate its complexities, you might find yourself facing challenges. It’s a crossroads moment – either you confront the issues head-on, or you choose to ignore them until they eventually explode. For some, it’s a repetitive cycle, and changing partners doesn’t necessarily solve the problem. In fact, some of my clients have shared that if they’d known they’d encounter the same challenges, they would have preferred to work things out with the person they parted ways with.

The key lies in having the right tools. Without them, you may find yourself in a similar situation with different people. It’s like déjà vu but in your relationships. However, if you equip yourself with the necessary tools, you can break free from this cycle. It’s time to stand up for your love, your family, and your happiness. Don’t wait for the other person to change because, as they say, God doesn’t sleep, and the entire universe is on your side.

It’s time to break that cycle, to recognize your worthiness of love, and to open yourself to receiving it. Remember, God is a God of relationships, and He grants the desires of our hearts. So, don’t give up on yourself, and don’t give up on love.
